Ghanaian table tennis star Rhoda Boadu donates to Asoba club
Ghanaian table tennis player Rhoda Boadu and Efia Oforiwa, a former national table tennis player, donated table tennis equipment to the Asoba Table Tennis Foundation.
The Asoba Table Tennis foundation which prepares young hopefuls in the sport received items such as balls, kits, racket cases, among others.
Presenting the items to the Accra club on Saturday, Boadu, who is currently studying at Kingston University in London, said she donated the items to support the development of children in sport.
“These children are the future. Seeing these kids having fun and enjoying the sports they love is what motivated me to support and create developmental opportunities.
“I decided to support these children because I wanted to be part of their success.
“There are a lot of great talent and fewer opportunities. Supporting these children would motivate them to strive, work hard and become better, which would lead to greater success, ”she said.
Mrs. Dorah Sarpong, coach at the Asoba Table Tennis Foundation, thanked these two players for their kind gesture and promised them that the items would be put to good use.
She added that the articles would be a great motivation for these children who dream of winning laurels for the country in the near future.
