NORTHFIELD, Vermont. – The University of Norwich Sports Department has announced changes to this week’s schedule affecting the baseball, softball and tennis teams.
The baseball team has canceled all five games this week. Tomorrow’s home game against Colby-Sawyer has been called off due to inclement weather and expected cold temperatures. The cadets were scheduled to play a home and home doubles series with St. Joseph’s, Maine on Saturday and Sunday, but those games have been called off due to COVID-19 protocols within the SJC baseball program. Norwich are looking for a pivotal opponent for this weekend, but nothing is planned at the moment.
The softball team’s home doubles program against Castleton scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled due to inclement weather and expected cold temperatures. The Cadets are next expected to be in action at Rivier on Saturday, before hosting the Raiders on Sunday in four huge Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) games.
The men’s tennis match that was scheduled to take place at NVU Lyndon on Thursday has been called off and will not be made up.
