Ashok Amritraj, Tennis Star and Hollywood Icon, Joins Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors
Ashok Amritraj, CEO of Hyde Park Entertainment Group, is now a member of the board of governors of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a nonprofit hospital based in Los Angeles, according to reports by Deadline.
A former professional tennis player, Amritraj has become a Hollywood producer with a passion for philanthropic activities on a global scale. His work also includes creating inclusive, socially relevant and diverse content.
In 2016 Amritraj was appointed United Nations Goodwill Ambassador to India and in 2018 he was appointed Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Merit by decree of the President of the French Republic.
In February 2022, he was also appointed chair of a study on aging which was a joint project between the US National Institutes of Health and India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Amritraj was also the former CEO of National Geographic Films in addition to being a professional tennis champion, gracing the whites at Wimbledon and winning the WTT Championships with Jerry Buss’ LA Strings in 1978, as reported. American Kahani.
He leveraged his position as a top Hollywood producer to build bridges between the Western film world and India. Amritraj established the Hyde Park-Warner Music Asian Women Fellowship for female writers and directors from Asia and the Asian diaspora.
