Syracuse, NY – The 2021-2022 Moyne College women’s tennis team is scheduled to open its season on September 10, with the team’s schedule released on Thursday afternoon.

The program will include 14 games, including 10 against opponents from the Northeast Conference-10, as well as the ITA East Regional. The Dolphins have seven home games, hosted at Nottingham High School, and seven road games.

“It’s great to be back with a packed schedule,” said seventh-year head coach Jeff Lonczak ’03. “I look forward to participating individually in our regional tournament and as a team for our very difficult conference season. It will be a real test for our students in the upper and lower grades this fall.

The Dolphins open the season with a pair of home games. They will face D’Youville College to start the season on Friday, September 10. The Dolphins open their NE10 schedule the next day against Southern New Hampshire University.

The Dolphins first hit the road on Tuesday the 14th to face Saint Michael’s College.

The team then travels to the United States Tennis Association’s National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York, for an individual competition at the ITA East Regional, which runs from Thursday 16 to Monday 20.

The Dolphins return to tag team competition on Wednesday 22nd to kick off four straight road games. They begin the period against defending NE10 champion Franklin Pierce University for a rematch of last spring’s NE10 semi-finals. Three days later, they face the University of the Assumption and then face the Collège Saint-Anselme on Sunday 26. The Dolphins conclude the streak with a non-conference game at Daemen College on Wednesday 29.

The Dolphins have their second two-game homestand of the season on the first weekend in October. They host Adelphi University on the 2nd and New Haven University on the 3rd.

The ‘Phins travel to Springfield, Mass. On October 6 to face American International College.

The Dolphins return home for a non-conference game against St. Thomas Aquinas College on the 8th. The next day, they host Bentley University.

Following their last non-conference game of the season at Niagara University on the 10th, the Dolphins close out the regular season by hosting Stonehill College on Saturday the 16th.

The Northeast-10 Conference Championship will again feature an eight-team field, with all competitions being run by the top-ranked team. The quarter-finals are scheduled for October 20, while the semi-finals are on October 22 and the championship game is scheduled for October 24.

The College looks forward to welcoming our supporters to the stands this fall. As per the requirements of the Department of Health and New York State College, unvaccinated individuals will be required to maintain a physical distance of six feet and wear a face covering at all times while on College property. . These guidelines reflect current federal and state requirements and may change at any time during the semester.
