Syracuse, NY – The 2022-23 Le Moyne College women’s tennis team is scheduled to open its season Sept. 10, with the team schedule released Thursday afternoon.

The schedule will feature 16 games, including nine against Northeast Conference-10 opponents, as well as the ITA East Regional. Of the six non-conference games on the schedule, four are against Division I opponents. The Dolphins have eight home contests, held at Skytop tennis courts, and six games on the road.

“I think this schedule is the toughest we’ve had in my tenure as head coach,” the eighth-year head coach said. Jeff Lonczak ’03. “We have mixed five Division I sides to accompany our nine league matches and two regional matches. The weekends we put a small asterisk on will both be weekends on the road. Our first league weekend against Bentley and SNHU and our last against Adelphi and New Haven will prove to be the most crucial. We look forward to the challenge.”

The Dolphins open the season with a pair of home games. They will face Daemen University to start the season on Saturday, September 10, then host Niagara University the following day.

The Dolphins hit the road for the first time on Wednesday the 14th to face Colgate University.

The Dolphins begin their NE10 regular season championship defense on Saturday the 17th at Bentley University, then play Southern New Hampshire University the next day.

The team welcomes an NE10 opponent for the first time on Tuesday the 20th when Saint Michael’s College comes to town.

The team then heads to the US Tennis Association’s National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York, for individual competition at the ITA East Regional, to be held from Thursday the 22nd through Monday the 26th.

Three days later, they open the month of October by facing the University of the Assumption, then welcome the Saint Anselme College on Sunday. The Dolphins wrap up the streak with a non-conference game against Binghamton University on Tuesday, October 4.

The Dolphins then have their second two-game road trip of the season. They visit Adelphi University on the 8th in a rematch of last year’s NE10 semi-finals, then head to the University of New Haven the next day.

The ‘Phins host American International College on Saturday the 15th in their final NE10 game of the regular season.

The Dolphins close out the regular season on the road at former NE10 rival Merrimack College on Sunday the 16th.
