Russian Rublev, who won a gold medal in mixed doubles with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova at the Tokyo Olympics, said winning the Laver Cup was a special moment for him.

“This year I had two very moving moments. One was the Olympic gold medal and this week is the second,” said Rublev. “It’s something that will stay with me forever.”
Each Laver Cup victory earns one point on Friday, two points on Saturday and three points on Sunday, with the first team to reach 13 points being declared the winner of the event.
Team World had to win all four matches on the final day to win the trophy, but Opelka and Shapovalov couldn’t finish the job after winning the second set.

Australia’s Nick Kyrgios, who lost both singles and doubles matches for Team World, said he played in his last Laver Cup.
“I’m sure I won’t be here anymore, so I took it all this week,” Kyrgios said. “I’ll be watching the next Laver Cup from my couch, cheering on Team World.”
Team Europe have now won the first four editions of the three-day event named after Australian great Rod Laver.
