It was a busy Thursday for high school athletes across Delaware.

The champions were crowned in tennis and lacrosse, and the baseball semifinals determined which teams would advance to the final.

Evan Bouldin threw his second straight shutout in the state tournament to lead defending champion Appoquinimink to a 3-0 victory over Saint-Marc in the semi-finals of the DIAA baseball tournament on Thursday.

Delaware Military Academy let slip a 1-0 lead early in the seventh inning, but rallied by two points late in the period to claim a 3-2 victory over Caravel Academy in the tournament’s other semi-final. baseball DIAA on Thursday.

The Dover Girls and Tower Hill Boys tennis teams had to wait another year to defend their DIAA 2019 tennis tournament tag team championships after COVID-19 wiped out the entire 2020 season.

The wait didn’t seem to bother either team, as both teams capped solid regular seasons by winning state tag team titles again on Thursday.

Women’s lacrosse: Cape Henlopen defeats Tatnall to extend crown title streak

Cape Henlopen won their 12th straight DIAA Girls Lacrosse tournament title and 153rd straight game against Delaware high school teams, beating Tatnall 17-10 at Dover High School.

But it wasn’t easy against a Tatnall side who hadn’t lost this season and resumed their way into the game in the second half.

Men’s lacrosse: Salesianum beats Cape Henlopen in state final

After nearly two years of waiting, Salesianum sparked accumulated frustration in the DIAA Boys Lacrosse Tournament final on Thursday night, beating Salesianum 12-10 in a rematch of the 2019 Championship game at Dover High School.
